The groups have been revealed for the twice delayed 2021 Africa Cup of Nations, scheduled to take place in Cameroon in January and February next year.

In total, 24 teams are scheduled to participate in the tournament, and today in Yaoundé these were drawn into six groups of four.

Hosts and five-times winners Cameroon have been drawn in Group A, alongside Burkina Faso, Ethiopia and Cape Verde.

Holders Algeria were placed in Group E with Sierra Leone, Equatorial Guinea and Ivory Coast.

Group B features Senegal, Zimbabwe, Guinea and Malawi while Group C features former winners Ghana and Morocco alongside Comoros and Gabon.

In Group D seven-times winners Egypt are alongside former winners Nigeria and Sudan, with Guinea-Bissau completing the line-up.

Tunisia, Mali, Mauritania and Gambia complete the draw in Group F, with matches scheduled to take place at the Japoma Stadium in Douala, the Ahmadou Ahidjo and Olembe Stadiums in Yaoundé, the Kouekong Stadium in Bafoussam, the Roumdjié-Adja Stadium in Garoua and the Limbe Omnisport Stadium in Limbe-Buea.

The draw show featured music by artist, composer and performer Salatiel, as well as dance performances.

Among the guests in attendance for the draw were Confederation of African Football President Dr Patrice Motsepe and Minister of Sports of Cameroon Professor Narcisse Mouelle Kombi.

The tournament is scheduled to run from January 9 to February 6 2022, having twice been postponed - once due to climatic conditions and once due to the coronavirus pandemic.
