Brazil, Romania and the United States have all hosted teqball Challenger Cup events in the last week - in Romania's case the first to be staged in the nation.

Romania hosted its first Challenger Cup from August 28 to 29 in Jidvei, with players from Hungary, North Macedonia, Serbia, Tunisia and the host country competing in singles and doubles.

Romanian Apor Györgydeák, world number two, headlined the singles competition and lived up to expectations as he defated Hungary's Balázs Katz 2-0 in the gold-medal match.

Györgydeák also shone in the doubles tournament with compatriot Szabolcs Ilyés as the pair overturned a first-set 6-12 loss to win 2-1 against Katz and his partner Csaba Bányik.

It served as revenge for Ilyés who lost to Bányik in the singles bronze-medal match the day before.

The Boston Challenger Cup in the US took place at the same time and saw Luka Pilic win the singles tournament with a dominant display.

It was an all-American podium as Frankie Diaz and Dennis Correia won silver and bronze, respectively.

Pilic and Correia also combined to secure first place in the doubles contest.

There was more home success at the Buzios Challenger Cup in Brazil as Leonardo Lindoso de Almeida and Lucas Bernardes only conceded 2 sets throughout the whole tournament on their way to at 2-1 victory in the final.

Meanwhile, reigning mixed doubles world champions Marcos Vieira and Natalia Guitler won all 5 of their matches in straight sets en route to an emphatic gold.

India hosted its third round of the Challenger series with Pranava Dharsan Venkatesh ending up as eventual winner in the men's singles event, dropping just one set throughout the tournament.

Venkatesh also triumphed in the men's doubles gold-medal match alongside Ajay Praghajeeth Rajan Gunasekaran.

In Nigeria, Victor Ademoye Oyemade reigned supreme as he won the singles tournament ahead of Chiemerie Nwa-Emmanuel.

Oyemade has only lost one game this year.
