China failed to hit double digit figures for the first time, but did convincingly defeat hosts and top seeds Sweden 6-0.

Shen Yi Feng scored a hat-trick in the one-sided affair, but it was Li Hong Guan who got the opener early in the first period to give China the advantage.

Shen got his first and second goals either side of the second period, sandwiching a goal from compatriot Xu Jin Qiang.

The hat-trick came less than a minute into the third period and Xu got a second to make it six for the group leaders.

Germany thrashed Poland 14-0, with the in-form Felix Schrader scoring half of the goals.

Bas Disveld and Christian Pilz scored early in the first period, and Schrader had a hat-trick within 13 minutes to make it 5-0.

Lucas Sklorz scored the sixth goal of the period.

Schrader got a fourth in the second period, while Ingo Kuhli-Lauenstein and Bernhard Hering got on the scoresheet. 

In the third period, Schrader got three more goals, while Disveld and Hering scored their second goals to finish off the rout.

Japan are setting up a tie for third with Sweden tomorrow after beating Finland 8-0.

Nao Kodama scored two goals in the first period, while Masaharu Kumagai scored two in the second period.

Norihiko Nasu made it five at the end of the second.

Mamoru Yoshikawa scored two in the third period and Kumagai completed his hat-trick to round off the scoring.
