Swiss-Ski has announced that it has extended its sustainability partnership with energy and infrastructure service provider BKW until the end of the 2025-2026 season.

BKW has been a premium partner of Swiss-Ski since 2015 and will continue its collaboration for another five years.

Swiss-Ski said it would benefit from BKW’s skills in energy, buildings and infrastructure and the company’s commitment to sustainable projects.

"Like Swiss-Ski, BKW stands for innovation," said Bernhard Aregger, chief executive of Swiss-Ski.

"With BKW, we have had a strong partner at our side for several years in terms of sustainability and energy efficiency.

"We look forward to further developing various projects with a focus on sustainability in snow sports together with BKW in the future."

Swiss-Ski said BKW was working with World Cup organisers in Switzerland to develop "pioneering solutions", including self-sufficient solar lights for public lighting in ski resort Adelboden.

BKW has also underlined its commitment to the Swiss snow sports community in both competitive and youth sports.

According to Swiss-Ski, around 300 athletes were benefitting from the work of BKW.

As part of the new agreement, BKW will remain the title sponsor of the Swiss Cup for five more seasons.

BKW will also be involved in all Swiss World Cup events for the next five years.

"By continuing the partnership with Swiss-Ski, thanks to the BKW development fund and with the intention of jointly founding a sustainability organisation, we can advance innovative and sustainable projects in snow sports," said Martin Schweikert, head of group communications for BKW.

"We are therefore happy to work as a sustainability partner together with Swiss-Ski, the organisers and the winter sports destinations for sustainable snow sports."
