Tickets are now on sale for every match of the International Cricket Council (ICC) Men’s T20 World Cup 2021, scheduled to be held in Oman and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) between October 17 and November 14.

Prices start at OMR10 (£19/$26/€22) for matches in Oman and AED30 (£6/$8/€7) for fixtures held in the UAE.

The three venues in the UAE - Dubai International Stadium, Sharjah Cricket Stadium and Zayed Cricket Stadium - will be operating at 70 per cent seating capacity, while the Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi is introducing socially distanced pods for up to four spectators on grass mounds at the ground.

Oman’s only venue for matches, the Oman Cricket Academy in Muscat, has had 3,000 temporary seats installed.

The reduced capacity for the event is due to COVID-19 restrictions put in place in the UAE, while the impact of tropical cyclone Shaheen - which swept through the Oman coast and Muscat, the capital, on Sunday (October 3) - on Oman's hosting the preliminary rounds, starting on October 10, is not yet fully known.

First-round matches are due to begin on October 17 with a double-header in Muscat between Oman and Papua New Guinea, followed by Bangladesh against Scotland.

The top two teams from each group in the first round advance to the Super12 stage which is set to begin on October 23 with a double-header of matches, starting with Australia against South Africa in Abu Dhabi.

On the same day, a replay of the 2016 final is scheduled in Dubai as England take on the holders the West Indies.

One of cricket’s biggest rivalries is set to take place on October 24 when India are due to face Pakistan in Dubai.

The final is scheduled for November 14 in Dubai.

The ICC’s acting chief executive Geoff Allardice said: "We are delighted to be welcoming fans back to international cricket in both Oman and the UAE to enjoy the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.

"Our thanks to our hosts the Board of Control for Cricket in India, Emirates Cricket Board and Oman Cricket as well as the local Governments in these regions for their support in ensuring fans could attend in a safe environment.

"The biggest sporting spectacle to have ever taken place in the region deserved to be played out in front of passionate cricket fans from all 16 nations competing and we are doing everything possible to keep it safe for all.

"It has been five years since the last Men’s T20 World Cup and we can’t wait for the world’s best players to arrive in Oman and the UAE and showcase the very best of T20 cricket."

The Men’s T20 World Cup 2020 was due to be held in Australia last year but was postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic, with the country named as hosts of the 2022 edition.

Meanwhile, the Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 was due to be played in India, but was moved to the UAE and Oman in June because of concerns around the coronavirus pandemic in India.
