The World Triathlon Cup circuit stays in South Korea this weekend, with racing scheduled in Tongyeong after last week's event in Haeundae, and British athletes are expected to be dominant once more.

Racing over a sprint distance again, the elite races will take place tomorrow.

The winner in Busan, Beth Potter of Britain, is the hot favourite following her victory in 56min 25sec in Haeundae.

Kate Waugh secured a British one-two last time out and is expected to challenge her compatriot and training partner for the gold medal once again.

Sandra Dodet won the last edition of the 2019 World Cup in Tongyeong - as the 2020 event was cancelled due to COVID-19 - and will be in with a chance of victory across a challenging and tactical course.

The Frenchwoman comes into the race in good form having placed fifth in Haeundae and taken the silver medal at the French National Championships.

The route features a 750-metres swim, 20-kilometres bike and finally a 5km run segment involving two brutal hill climbs.

Australian Olympian Emma Jackson, who brings a wealth of World Triathlon race experience to the start line, will be one to watch, after producing a 14th-place finish in Haeundae.

Jackson will be joined in Tongyeong by compatriots Charlotte McShane and rising star Emma Hogan.

All Australians raced in Haeundae last weekend so have had a week in Tongyeong to familiarise themselves with the race conditions and course.

Japan's Jumpei Furuya headlines a strong field in the men's race as he took bronze at the 2021 Asia Triathlon Championships and fifth place last weekend.

Olympian Felix Duchampt of Romania should not be written off either, after recording an impressive eighth place last week.

Following the conclusion of the Tonyeong races, athletes will then head to the United Arab Emirates to compete at the World Triathlon Championship Series event in Abu Dhabi on November 5.
