Pakistan outclassed Namibia by 45 runs to secure their place in the semi-finals of the Twenty20 World Cup in the United Arab Emirates.

Opener Mohammad Rizwan hit a sparkling 79 as Pakistan scored an imposing 189-2 from their 20 overs at Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi.

Babar Azam was also in superb form as he smashed 70 to guide Pakistan to their fourth consecutive win and a place in the last four of the tournament.

Pakistan's total proved insurmountable for Namibia but they produced a spirited display on their way to reaching 144-5.

Babar's team sit top of Group 2 on an unbeaten record and now cannot be passed, with New Zealand, Afghanistan and India battling to join them in the next round.

Pakistan had made a sluggish start to their innings and were 59-0 at the halfway stage before they accelerated in their last 10 overs, thanks to the brutal hitting of Rizwan, Azam and Mohammad Hafeez, who struck 32 from 16 balls.
