Brazilians Pamela Rosa and Lucas Rabelo topped a competitive day of qualifying at the Street League Skateboarding (SLS) Super Crown World Championships to make it into tomorrow's finals in Jacksonville in Florida.

Both were outside the top four in the overall standings, meaning they had to make it into the top four in last chance qualifying, with six women's skaters and 21 men's skaters vying for these spots.

Rosa was one of the favourites to make it through in the women's, with only two being eliminated.

She was second in the run phase, scoring 4.9 and only beaten by American Mariah Duran.

But it was the tricks where she excelled, posting a 6.5 in her second of four attempts, which was far ahead of any of her opponents.

She finished on 16.2 to top the standings, a full point in front of Samarria Brevard of the United States, who was second with three consistent scores.

Dutch skateboarder Candy Jacobs recovered from a poor run to post four trick scores and ending with a total of 14.8, just in front of her compatriot Keet Olenbeuving who took the last spot.

Duran was unable to string together high-scoring tricks, meaning she was eliminated alongside Marina Gabriela of Brazil.

They join Japanese pair Momiji Nishiya and Funa Nakayama, The Netherlands' Roos Zwetsloot and Brazilian Rayssa Leal in the final.

Rabelo led a Brazilian one-two in the men's qualification, posting a tremendous last two tricks to put him into the finals with a score of 26.7, just 0.2 in front of Kelvin Hoefler.

Only half a mark separated the top four, with Australian Shane O'Neill finishing third, helped by the highest run score of 9.4.

However, he was unable to string together a big second trick to move him to the top, instead finishing on 26.3, just in front of American Jagger Eaton who excelled on the tricks.

Just missing out was a third Brazilian, Carlos Ribeiro, who finished fifth on 25.8 after two average trick scores.

Frenchman Aurelien Giraud was undone by a poor run and two low opening scores on the tricks and could only finish sixth, despite posting the best trick score of the day with a 9.5 in the third.

Vincent Milou had a similar issue to his compatriot, relying solely on his tricks, which were unable to push into the nine, meaning he finished seventh.

They join the already-qualified Gustavo Ribeiro of Portugal, the US' Alex Midler and Nyjah Huston and Brazilian Felipe Gustavo in the final tomorrow.
