Following the cancellation of the 2020 edition, 29 countries are set to compete for the International Padel Federation (FIP) World Padel Championships crown from November 15 to 20 in Doha.

Argentina are favourites for the men's tournament having won the previous three while Spain's women are looking to secure their third consecutive title.

The two nations have dominated the competition since its inauguration in 1992 with Argentina winning 10 men's and eight women's events while Spain has won the remaining three men's and five women's editions.

"It will be a big event with many players from different nations participating," said Tareq Zainal from the Qatar Tennis, Squash and Badminton Federation (QTSBF).

"It will be the first time that this event will come to Asia as well as the region and we are very proud to host this tournament."

In June, Qatar, which is represented by the QTSBF, officially joined the FIP allowing it to host international padel tournaments and participate in FIP organised events.
