Italy ended the International Wheelchair and Amputee Sports Federation Wheelchair Fencing World Cup in Pisa on a high with two gold medals.

Ionela Andreea Mogos, Alessia Biagini and Loredana Trigilia delivered the first title of a superb day for the hosts in the women’s foil senior team category.

The Italian team overcame Yu Choi Yee, Tong Nga Ting, Fan Pui Shan and Lam Kam Man of Hong Kong 45-43 in the final.

Nino Tipilashvili, Irma Khatsuriani and Gvantsa Zadishvili clinched bronze for Georgia on the final day of the tournament.

They defeated the French team of Sophie Sablon, Stephanie Droit Malarme and Brianna Vide 45-18 in the third-place play-off.

Italy then completed their golden double courtesy of their men’s sabre senior team success.

Alberto Morelli, Matteo Dei Rossi, Gianmarco Paolucci and Edoardo Giordan claimed a 45-41 win over Daniel Gottlinger, Richard Osvath, Sandor Zsolnai and Istvan Tarjanyi of Hungary.

Ludovic Lemoine, Moez El Assine, Laurent Vadon and Serge Robin bagged bronze for France.

They saw off the German team of Tim Widmaier, Fietje Blumenthal, Maurice Schmidt and Julius Haupt 45-41 to secure their place on the podium.
