Katie Archibald, Gavin Hoover, Emma Hinze and Harrie Lavreysen were crowned winners of their respective classifications as the inaugural International Cycling Union (UCI) Track Champions League concluded in London.

The second day of the double-header at London's Lee Valley VeloPark rounded off the season, after the planned finale in Israel was cancelled last week due to COVID-19 restrictions.

Archibald had effectively sealed the women’s endurance title in yesterday’s round, where an elimination race victory helped her to establish a 35-point cushion over her nearest challenger in the overall standings.

The British rider sealed the title with a second-place finish in the women’s scratch race, where the two-time Olympic gold medallist finished behind Japan’s Yumi Kajihara,

Archibald completed a season of dominance by winning the elimination race, beating The Netherlands' Kirsten Wild in a head-to-head sprint.

The result was the final one of Wild’s career, with the Dutch great having opted to retire at the age of 39.

Archibald topped the season standings on 145 points.

Wild and Australia’s Annette Edmondson, who is also retiring from the sport, followed on 100 and 97 points.

The men’s endurance classification had been a close contest throughout the season, with Spain’s Sebastian Mora and the United States' Hoover having been separated by five points heading into round four.

Hoover had finished one place ahead of Mora in the elimination race today, where he placed fourth behind winner Iuri Leitao of Portugal, runner-up Aaron Gate of New Zealand and the Netherlands’ Roy Eefting.

Eefting had earlier won the men’s scratch race, which proved decisive in the final classification due to Hoover placing sixth and Mora trailing back in 14th.

Hoover reversed his five-point deficit to Mora in the season standings by triumphing on 107 points, with his rival ending on 102 in second.

Germany’s Hinze was crowned winner of the women’s sprint classification, finishing on 128 points, 10 clear of her compatriot Lea Friedrich’s 118.

Hinze won the women’s sprint final today against Olympic champion Kelsey Mitchell of Canada.

The German star was fourth in the keirin event, which saw Ukraine’s Olena Starikova win ahead of Mitchell and Martha Bayona of Colombia.

The Netherlands' Lavreysen and Germany's Stefan Bötticher continued their duel in the men’s sprint classification.

Bötticher triumphed in the keirin event ahead of Lavreysen, who won men's and team sprint golds at Tokyo 2020.

The Dutch cyclist gained revenge in the sprint final by beating Bötticher by 0.028sec.

Lavreysen finished the season with a total of 147 points, with Bötticher second on 133.

The four winners of the classifications were each awarded a replica of the UCI Track Champions League trophy, with their names engraved as the inaugural champions of the event.

Six rounds had initially been planned this season, but two were cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
