The latest slalom leg in the men's International Ski Federation (FIS) Alpine Ski World Cup in Zagreb has been cancelled today due to extreme weather conditions in Croatia.

A replacement event could be scheduled for tomorrow instead if conditions are deemed safe by the jury, with discussions ongoing.

It was set to be the third slalom race of the year and would have likely led to an outright leader in the event standings, with both Norway's Sebastian Foss-Solevåg and Sweden's Kristoffer Jakobsen sitting on 140 points each.

France's Clément Noël is behind the pair on 100 points, having won in Val d'Isère on home snow.

Foss-Solevåg won the second slalom race of the season at the Italian resort Madonna di Campiglio.

It is the second race in a row to be cancelled, following the last day in Bormio being cancelled due to warm weather, meaning an already-rescheduled super-G leg could not go ahead.

Marco Odermatt of Switzerland leads the FIS World Cup standings by 276 points in front of Norway's Aleksander Aamodt Kilde and Austrian Matthias Mayer.
