Japanese jumper Ryōyū Kobayashi sealed the overall Four Hills Tournament title today in Bischofshofen as part of the International Ski Federation (FIS) Ski Jumping World Cup, as Austrian Daniel Huber won the final leg of the four-stage event on home soil.

With a total of 286.8, Huber claimed his maiden individual World Cup victory, finishing in front of Norway's Halvor Egner Granerud who scored 282.4.

Karl Geiger of Germany was close behind with 281.9 to take the bronze medal.

Yukiya Sato of Japan finished fourth, just in front of his team mate Kobayashi, whose fifth-place finish confirmed he would take the Four Hills Tournament trophy.

Kobayashi nearly made history by becoming the first jumper to win all four legs in two separate seasons.

He is one of only three to achieve the feat on one occasion, alongside Germany's Sven Hannawald in 2001-2002 and Poland's Kamil Stoch in 2017-2018.

The Four Hills Tournament takes place in Oberstdorf and Garmisch-Partenkirchen in Germany, before moving to Innsbruck and Bischofshofen over the New Year period.

Innsbruck's leg was cancelled this year due to strong winds, meaning Bischofshofen held two legs.

Completing the top 10 today in Bischofshofen were Robert Johansson of Norway, Jan Hörl of Austria, Markus Eisenbichler of Germany, Slovenia's Lovro Kos and Norway's Marius Lindvik.

Despite a low finish on the final leg, Lindvik was second in the Four Hills Tournament standings, in front of Granerud, Geiger and Eisenbichler.

Coming out of the four-stage competition, Kobayashi leads the FIS Ski Jumping World Cup standings in front of Geiger and Granerud.

The next leg of the Ski Jumping World Cup is also set to take place in Bischofshofen, starting on Saturday (January 8).
