The 2017 world champion Ledeux scored 86.55 on her first run, and bettered it with an 88.31 on her second to ease into tomorrow's final as one of eight qualifiers.

Ledeux topped the women's big air standings on the circuit, but has yet to finish on the podium in a slopestyle event so far this season.

Anastasia Tatalina of Russia was the second best qualifier with her score of 78.21, while Austria's Lara Wolf notched 77.88.

Three American skiers in Marin Hamill, Caroline Claire and Grace Henderson progressed to the final with scores of 75.66, 65.03 and 63.60 respectively, with Japan's Kokone Kondo and Katie Summerhayes of Britain completing the line-up for tomorrow's final.

Kondo scored 74.63 and Summerhayes 73.28 in qualifying.

Estonia's Kelly Sildaru has won both slopestyle World Cups so far this season, but is not competing in Font Romeu.

The United States' Maggie Voisin, Britain's Kirsty Muir and overall World Cup leader Eileen Gu of China are also among the absentees.

The men's and women's slopestyle World Cups are due to be held tomorrow.

This is the final slopestyle event on the Freeski World Cup circuit until the Bakuriani stop from March 3 to 5, after next month's Winter Olympics.
