In Group D, Bahrain downed Uzbekistan 35-19 in Dammam as they look to win their maiden gold medal at the event, despite four appearances in the final.

Earlier on Hong Kong beat Vietnam 31-27 to pick up their first win.

Vietnam were a late addition to the tournament as they were drafted in to replace Japan.

The Japanese were forced to withdraw following a COVID-19 outbreak within their squad.

The action continues tomorrow in Saudi Arabia with the final fixtures in each group scheduled to take place.
