Speaking following the opening of the first World Broadcasters Meeting for Hangzhou 2022, Al-Musallam said he was "very happy" to see rights-holding broadcasters from Asia joining host broadcaster China Media Group and the Organising Committee for discussions.

The meeting was held in a hybrid format in Hangzhou and Beijing, while the OCA joined online from Kuwait.

"The World Broadcasters Meeting is one of the most important events to gather information and knowledge for successful TV and online broadcasting of our Hangzhou 2022 Asian Games," Al-Musallam said.

"Asian Games TV broadcasting consists of not only the best technology but also the best production team around the world to present a master showcase of the Asian Games to the world.

"I am confident that Hangzhou 2022 will present detailed presentations and information to all of you for better preparation of TV broadcasting in your countries and region.

"I wish you all have a fruitful meeting in the coming two days - and the OCA will always be here to support you and all for the success of the Hangzhou Asian Games."

Broadcasters from China, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Malaysia, Qatar, the Philippines, Chinese Taipei, Uzbekistan, India and Hong Kong were among those in attendance.

During the meeting, it was reiterated that 47 competition venues have been completed and the other eight should be finished by the end of March.

China Media Group held a briefing yesterday with rights-holders on technical aspects and services.

The Media Village is part of the main Asian Games Village and set to be open from August 29 to September 26, with a capacity of 5,000.

The Hangzhou 2022 Asian Games are scheduled to run from September 10 to 25.
