Georgia remain top of Group D at UEFA Futsal Euro 2022 and are into the quarter-finals thanks to a second victory, coming from behind to beat Bosnia and Herzegovina at MartiniPlaza in the Dutch city of Groningen.

Nermin Kahvedžić scored in the seventh minute of the match, assisted by Blago Gašpar, but Georgia equalised thanks to Thales.

Petry Blanco bagged the winner three minutes later, putting the tournament debutants into the last eight.

"It's beyond words being able to play at a tournament like this one for Georgia and to score a goal which could get us through to the quarter-finals," said Petry Blanco.

"We knew it would be a difficult match for us as [Bosnia and Herzegovina] have a well-organised team who use their goalkeeper in attack very well, and once again we had to recover from going down in the first half.

"We managed to fight back and I’m really happy with the way every single player fought for this win."

Seven-time European champions Spain drew 2-2 with Azerbaijan in the group's other match after scoring with 10 minutes to go.

The Azeris opened the scoring through a Sergio Lozano own goal.

Raúl Gómez got the equaliser two minutes later, but Azerbaijan went back in front through an Isa Atayev strike before the break.

Lozano redeemed himself by scoring a goal in the correct end in the 30th minute.

Spain's late goal means they will advance t the last eight if they can avoid defeat in their final game versus Georgia.
