The Asian Baseball Championship has been postponed yet again, with the Baseball Federation of Asia (BFA) also postponing its Congress because of the COVID-19 crisis.

Both events were due to be in Taiwan.

The BFA Congress was scheduled to take place in April, but is now indefinitely postponed in response to the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) Congress' postponement.

The BFA Congress, which in 2022 is elective, was to have been held alongside the WBSC gathering.

The WBSC has expressed hope that it will be able to hold the Congress before the end of 2022.

As for the Asian Baseball Championship, it was supposed to be played in March in Taichung.

City officials, the Chinese Taipei Baseball Association and the BFA have agreed to another postponement in light of travel restrictions caused by the emergence of the Omicron COVID-19 variant.

The tournament was initially planned to be played in 2021, but was delayed until March 2022 and now postponed once more.

It was last played in 2019, when Chinese Taipei won the title.
