Home favourite Fathur Gustafian of Indonesia got revenge on Napis Tortungpanich of Thailand to secure the men's 50 metres three positions rifle gold medal.

Gustafian was ruthless in the capital as he fired his way to a 17-13 victory.

Marat Lleyton Veloso of Singapore won the bronze medal as he finished third in the semi-final with 37.5 points, meaning that Thongphaphum Vongsukdee missed out on the podium.

It is Gustafian's second gold medal of the event after triumphing in the mixed team 10m air rifle final with compatriot Monica Daryanti.

He also has a silver following a loss to Tortungpanich in the men's 10m air rifle competition.

In the women's 25m pistol, Singapore's Shun Xie Teo snuck a 16-14 victory over Talitha Judith Almira of Indonesia.

Teo kept her score steadily ticking along with an average of 2.6 out of a possible five across the six attempts.

The scores were level at 13-13 going into the final target but Almira could not hold her nerve and made just one of five shots in the last round to lose the title.

Natsara Champalat of Thailand made up the podium with the bronze after securing third place in the previous round.

It is also Teo's second overall gold after she was a part of Thailand's winning line-up in the women's air pistol team tournament.

Today's results mean that Indonesia and Singapore have four gold medals apiece, but the hosts have six silvers to Singapore's two which puts them in pole position.

Thailand are currently in third with two golds while Malaysia and Romania both have one gold each.

The competition continues tomorrow in Jakarta with the 50m three positions rifle tournaments for men's and women's teams, as well as in the women's individual category.
