This is the first Grand Prix being held under a new classification format, with competitors split into the J1 and J2 categories and four weight divisions for men and women featuring at Antalya Sports Hall.

Tokyo 2020 bronze medallist Recep Çiftçi triumphed in the men's J2 under-60 kilograms event.

With only four judoka entering this category, competition was held in a round-robin format, with home favourite Çiftçi beating South Korea's Lee Min-jae, Thiego Marques Da Silva of Brazil and fellow Turkish athlete Kadir Kiliç en route to victory.

Lee ranked second and Marques Da Silva third.

There was a Turkish one-two in the five-athlete women's J1 under-57kg round robin.

Merve Uslu won all four of her bouts to take gold, with three victories for Güliz Çakar earning her second place, and Italy's Asia Giordano completing the podium.

Abdurrahim Ozalp of Turkey beat Uzbekistan's Diyorbek Maydonov in the men's J1 under-60kg final, with another home favourite in Sait Gökhan Yüce joining Kazakhstan's Temirlan Abdikarimov in third place on the podium.

Switzerland's Carmen Brussig also won gold in the women's J2 under-48kg.

Kamola Uzokboeva of Uzbekistan took silver, with no bronze medal awarded in the three-athlete round robin which also included Turkey's Konus Tugba.

Georgia's Giorgi Kaldani beat Paralympic bronze medallist Namig Abasli of Azerbaijan in the men's J2 under-73kg bout for gold, with Azamat Nokushev of Kazakhstan and South Korea's Kim Dong-hoon winning bronze.

Romania's two-time Paralympic medallist Alex Bologa claimed victory in the men's J1 udner-73kg final, beating Rayfran Mesquita Pontes of Brazil.

Italy's Dong Dong Camanni and Gokce Yavuz placed third.

Brazil's Rosicleide Silva de Andrade triumphed in the women's J1 under-48kg final against Kyrgyzstan's Khaiitkhon Khusan Kyzy, with Turkey's Merve Demir and Argentina's Rocio Ledesma Dure clinching the bronze medals

Competition is due to conclude across all 16 events at the IBSA Judo Grand Prix tomorrow.
