Dhanush Srikanth achieved a world record score to win men's 10 metres air rifle gold on the third day of the Deaflympics in Caxias do Sul in Brazil.

The Indian shooter registered a score of 247.5 points to claim victory, as South Korea's Kim Woo-rim came up short with 246.6.

Shourya Saini secured another shooting medal for India with bronze after scoring 224.3, pushing Marek Bartosek of the Czech Republic into fourth position with 200.

India also struck gold in the badminton team event courtesy of a 3-1 victory over Japan in the final.

The Indian team topped Group D by beating Turkey, Chinese Taipei and Japan by the same scoreline to clinch top spot.

Chinese Taipei achieved bronze with a 3-2 win over South Korea.

Medals were also awarded in the judo competition with Yerkebulan Kanafin of Kazakhstan beating South Korea's Kim Min-seok to seal men's under 81 kilograms gold.

Luka Netiaha boosted Ukraine’s medal count with the men's under-90kg title, beating Iran's Allahkarimi Hossein in the final.

The men's under-100kg crown was won by Iran's Mehrdad Seidi after he overcame Maklakov Volodymyr of Ukraine.

France's Amadou Meiti defeated Turkey's Samet Bulut to bag men's over-100kg gold.

In the women's competition, Ukraine's Kateryna Shepeliuk saw off Turkey's Esma Gokulu to take under-63kg gold.

There was also success for South Korea's Choi Sun-hee in the women's under-70kg category, South Korea's Hong Eu-nmi in the women's under-78kg division and Nina Cutro Kelly of the United States in the women's over-78kg class.

The delayed Deaflympics is set to continue tomorrow, and is due to run until May 15.
