Wrestler Muhammad Inam was elected unopposed as the chair of the Pakistan Olympic Association (POA) Athletes' Commission following a meeting at Pakistan Olympic House in Lahore.

The two-time Commonwealth Games champion is set to lead the 12-member panel, which includes Olympic badminton player Mahoor Shahzad, the female representative of the Athletes' Commission on the POA General Council.

Inam insisted that the International Olympic Committee stresses the importance of empowering athletes and that the POA has always rendered invaluable support to the Athletes' Commission.

The 33-year-old secured his first Commonwealth Games gold in the men’s freestyle under-84 kilograms category in Deli in 2010.
