Denmark defeated the Netherlands to win the International Wheelchair and Amputee Sports Federation (IWAS) Powerchair Hockey World Championship in Nottwil.

The Danes registered a 4-3 win over the Dutch team to claim the title at the Stadthalle Sursee.

Meanwhile, hosts Switzerland got the better of Finland 5-4 in another closely contested affair to claim the third spot.

Italy bagged the fifth place after a comprehensive 7-0 win over Germany.  

In an earlier fixture, Spain emerged victorious.

They beat Belgium 8-5 to take the seventh place.

The event was concluded with a Closing Ceremony after the final.

It was the first time that 10 teams featured in the history of the tournament.
