The Olympic Council of Malaysia (OCM) President Tan Sri Mohamad Norza Zakaria has told International Olympic Committee (IOC) President Thomas Bach of plans to emulate Olympic House In Kuala Lumpur.

The building is planned as "green and smart with sustainable architecture," the OCM said.

It was Zakaria's first visit to the IOC since his election as OCM President in 2018.

"I have had effective discussions with the IOC President, director general and several other senior staff to further enhance the Olympic Movement and values in Malaysia," Zakaria said.

It was an opportunity for Zakaria, OCM assistant secretary general Moira Tan Siew See and general manager Fong Wan Hor to see Olympic House in Lausanne, which opened in 2019, at first hand.

They were able to learn about the sustainable features which have received Green Building leadership awards.

The party also visited Olympic Solidarity offices and toured the Olympic Museum.

"One of the important missions of the IOC is to support National Olympic Commitees (NOCs)," Bach told the Malaysian visitors.

"With the strength of the NOCs, it will make the IOC stronger in the global Olympic Movement."
