Guenther scored the winner in the sixth minute of overtime as Canada defeated the Czech Republic 3-2 at the Scotiabank Centre in Halifax.

It completed a memorable brace for Guenther to help Canada capture a 20th world crown.

"Words can't describe this," said Guenther.

"It was a lot of fun.

"You never know when you're going to get the opportunity to win again.

"To be here with this team, and play in front of these fans, it couldn't have ended better."

Guenther opened the scoring for Canada when he struck inside 13 minutes.

Canada doubled their lead in the second period when Shane Wright found the back of the net.

The Czech Republic hit back with a quick-fire double as Jiri Kulich netted on 52 minutes before Jakub Kos drew his side level moments later.

Despite the double blow, Canada bounced back in overtime as Guenther took a give-and-go pass from Joshua Roy before firing home for the match-winning goal.

"These are the moments you want to be in as a kid," added Guenther.

"You dream of playing in the gold-medal game, playing in overtime."

In the bronze-medal match, the United States defeated Sweden 8-7 after overtime, with Lucius Chaz netting the winning goal in a high-scoring affair.
