The first permanent outdoor badminton court in China has been built alongside the Binjiang Gymnasium, which is due to host badminton at this year’s delayed 2022 Asian Games in Hangzhou.

The location will showcase the outdoor game, pioneered in 2019 by the Badminton World Federation (BWF).

The outdoor sport is suitable for all regardless of age and sex and has become increasingly popular with badminton enthusiasts.

This venue is also the competition venue of the badminton event of Hangzhou 2022, due to take place from September 23 until October 8.

At that time, the sports enthusiasts from all over Asia will come to watch the game, and this outdoor venue is undoubtedly the best place for citizens to do exercise.

In order to increase the public understanding and appreciation of outdoor badminton, the outdoor court at the Binjiang Gymnasium is open free of charge, with reservations being made online.

In 2023, Chinese Badminton Association will continue to co-operate with the BWF and strive for more outdoor venues in Chinese cities in order to help boost the new discipline.

The Asian Games were due to take place last year but were postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
