Norway claimed the mixed and single mixed relay titles to cap a superb weekend at the International Biathlon Union Open European Championships in Lenzerheide.

The two victories saw Norway finish the event as the most successful nation with five golds in an eight-medal haul in Switzerland.

Vebjørn Sørum, who triumphed in yesterday’s men's 12.5 kilometres pursuit, was part of the Norwegian team that won 4x6km mixed relay gold.

He crossed the finish line in 1hr 3min 40.9sec as he celebrated with teammates Maren Kirkeeide, Karoline Erdal and Erlend Bjøntegaard.

"Maren and Karoline did a great first two legs," said Sørum.

"Erlend brought me a very comfortable lead.

"I had a perfect day on the shooting range.

"I feel goosebumps all over again."

Germany claimed silver in 1:04:06.0, while Sweden finished in 1:04:27.7 for bronze.

Norway then secured their fifth gold of the weekend when they powered to success in the single mixed relay.

Juni Arnekleiv and Endre Strømsheim led from start to finish as they crossed in 34:34.7 to seal victory.

"Before the last standing shooting, I felt confident and got in some trouble," said Strømsheim.

"It was a great way to celebrate with the flag and see how Vebjoern felt, doing it twice in the last two days."

Switzerland were Norway’s nearest challengers, finishing in 34:51.3 for silver as France completed the podium after recording a time of 34:55.7.
