The 2024 International School Sports Federation (ISF) Gymnasiade logo was displayed for the first time at the Bahrain National Theatre as the tournament is set to be held in the Gulf nation.

The logo has two shades of blue, representing two seas, which is the meaning of "Al Bahrain", with four athletes that indicate the four pillars of ISF.

The competition will mark the largest sports event in Bahrain, according to the organisers.

It is scheduled to start in October 2024, lasting 10 days with 5000 students from 80 countries taking part in 25 different sports.

The sports programme for the Gymnasiade will include athletics, swimming, gymnastics, basketball, boxing, taekwondo, karate, judo, table tennis, badminton, ground tennis, handball, volleyball, dancing, chess, javelin, darts and Paralympic sports.

President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa said that the event will help his country accelerate the growth of youth talent, helping their sports clubs and national teams.

Executive chairman for the 2024 ISF Gymnasiade Ishaq Abdullah Ishaq praised the support from Bahrain, as the country looks to match their Gulf neighbours Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE in their valuation of sports, despite it being the smallest country in the region.

Bahrain were awarded the competition last May during the ISF General Assembly, as they promised to focus on sustainability, making physical activity key as a legacy point.
