Lohja in Finland has been announced as hosts of the 2024 World Junior Curling Championships.

The tournament is scheduled to be held from February 17 to 24 at the Kisakallio Sports Institute.

The announcement comes after the venue was also awarded the World Wheelchair-B Curling Championship and the World Junior-B Curling Championships during the 2023-2024 season.

However, the World Junior Curling Championships will be held in Finland for the first time.

"Lohja have been fantastic partners for the World Curling Federation over the years and I’m delighted that this has resulted in us bringing our World Junior Championships to the Kisakallio Sports Institute," Eeva Roethlisberger, head of competitions at World Curling Federation, said.

"The local organisers have a huge experience in running our Junior-B and Wheelchair events and I have every confidence that they will host a fantastic event for our elite junior curlers."

The Local Organising Committee President Lauri Ikavalko expressed his delight in securing yet another major event.

"Kisakallio is very proud to partner with the World Curling Federation to host this and the other events," Ikavalko said.

"This event is a concrete example of our success in hosting the qualifying junior and wheelchair championships and highlights our ongoing cooperation and excitement we have for junior curling."

This year’s World Junior Curling Championships is currently underway in Fussen, Germany and is scheduled to conclude on Saturday (March 4).
