This is set to feature discussions on sport by personalities in sport, entertainment and civic life.

Wayne Mitchell and Tami Mitchell, who feature in the television programme Meet the Mitchells are set to take part in a motivational session with Para athletes on life's values, interests and inspiring stories.

The JPA hopes to stage further editions of Paralympic Connect periodically.

JPA President Christopher Samuda believes it will engage Jamaica's Para sport community.

"Wayne and Tami will definitely connect with our athletes and stakeholders in this forum which affords direct engagement on inspiring subjects on life in and out of sport as we, at the JPA, play our part in changing attitudes, building aptitudes and transforming lives," Samuda said.

He said that Paralympic Connect would be a welcome addition to the JPA's activities.

"It will be an organic device in our toolkit and Paralympic experience and it underscores the very fact that in life connectivity and connectedness constitute the first step to mutual understanding which creates trust that gives birth to unity," the JPA President, who also heads up the Jamaica Olympic Association, said.

"This is the Paralympic dream of an inspired reality."

The JPA also plans to launch a philanthropic initiative Paralympic Care and human interest narration Paralympic Inspire.

This year's edition of Paralympic Day in Jamaica has been given the theme "I'm phenomenal".

Jamaica has won 20 gold, 16 silver and 18 bronze medals at the Paralympic Games since its first appearance at Tel Aviv 1968.

It sent four athletes to Tokyo 2020, but has not medalled at the last two editions of the event.
