The France Football Federation (FFF) have decided to dismiss women's head coach Corinne Deacon after players from the national team protested against her management style.

Captain Wendie Renard, along with stars Marie-Antoinette Katoto and Kadidiatou, led the charge as they were not willing to play for the nation if Deacon was still employed.

Deacon's contract was set to expire in 2024, but players were unwilling to continue with her at the helm during the FIFA Women's World Cup that is set to occur in Australia and New Zealand this summer.

She took the role as head coach in 2017, but the Les Bleues were underwhelming during her stint, being unable to win a major title.

They lost in quarter-finals of the 2019 World Cup to the United States, which was held in France.

They released a statement on their Twitter account addressing the situation.

"The Executive Committee of the FFF, meeting this Thursday, March 9, received the conclusions of the commission commissioned by the interim President, Philippe Diallo, to draw up a report on the situation of the French Women's Team, following the various positions of several players.

"If the FFF recognises the involvement and the seriousness of Corinne Deacon and her staff in the exercise of their mission, it appears that the dysfunctions observed seem, in this context, irreversible.

"In view of these elements, it was decided to put an end to the mission of Corinne Diacre at the head of the French women's team."

The FFF will now be searching for a suitable replacement ahead of the Women's World Cup, scheduled to be held from July 20 to August 20.
