Technical fitness equipment for next year's Olympic and Paralympic Games in Paris is to be supplied by Technogym.

They will equip the gymnasium at the Olympic and Paralympic Athlete Villages at Saint-Denis and also supply 29 other facilities, including those at satellite centres in Lille, Marseilles and Tahiti.

"As an athlete, I know their expertise personally and I am delighted that this company, a world market leader, is supporting us as official and exclusive supplier to the Paris 2024 Games," Paris 2024 President Tony Estanguet said.

"Technogym's experience and knowledge of the sports ecosystem will be essential to enable athletes around the world to train in the best conditions."

Paris 2024 will be the ninth time - and seventh consecutive Summer Games - that Technogym has provided equipment at the Olympics since they were first chosen at Sydney 2000. 

Since then, they have worked at Athens 2004, Beijing 2008, London 2012, Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020.

In addition, Technogym have provided equipment at two Winter Olympic Games, Turin 2006 and Pyeongchang 2018.

The deal for Paris 2024, which means Technogym will be an "official supporter", will include supply of approximately 1,200 pieces of equipment to the gyms.

“This partnership also illustrates our common desire to place the athletes at the heart of the project, relying in particular on the advice of the Athletes' Commission,” Estanguet added.

The kit provided will encompass cardio, strength and functional training. 

All the smart equipment will be connected with Technogym Ecosystem.

As part of the agreement, a team of expert trainers will be onsite to assist athletes in using the equipment.

The Olympic Games are set to open on July 26 next year and conclude on August 11.

They are scheduled to be followed by the Paralympic Games from August 28 until September 8.
