A third anniversary celebration for the release of the three Hangzhou 2022 mascots has taken place at the Asian Games-themed KFC restaurant in the city.

Congcong, Chenchen, and Lianlian were celebrated with a specially made electronic character that stands outside the establishment.

The new guitar-wielding mascot Jiangnan Yi is claimed to "perfectly integrate ancient style and modern technology".

"I am very pleasantly surprised, proud, happy, blessed by everyone, and full of anticipation for the Asian Games," Zhang Wen, the creators of the mascots, said.

"I hope that more children from all over the world will come to Hangzhou to share the joy and joy brought by the Hangzhou Asian Games with the mascot, and feel the Olympic spirit transmitted by this sports event."

The celebration saw a song and dance from the mascots before a KFC style birthday cake was presented.

In December 2022, official excusive supplier of Western food catering services for the Games Yum China Holdings unveiled the restaurant.

It also was announced alongside a themed Pizza Hut, while 28 Asian Games ambassadors were selected from more than 40,000 employees in the Zhejiang Province.

They are set to join the Asian Games support team at Hangzhou 2022 to provide catering services at the Hangzhou Asian Games Village, Hangzhou Olympic Sports Centre and other competition venues.

Some of the selected employees were at the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Games in the same position.

The Hangzhou 2022 Asian Games are scheduled to take place from September 23 to October 8 this year, after being postponed due to COVID-19 restrictions in China.
