The International Esports Federation (IESF) has announced six games will return for its 2023 World Championships in Romania.

CS:GO, Dota 2, Tekken 7 and eFootball will all feature once more at the event in Iași after being on the programme in both 2021 and 2022.

PUBG MOBILE and Mobile Legends: Bang Bang have also been selected again after featuring at the 2022 World Championships in Bali.

The event in Iași will be the 15th edition of the IESF World Championships and more than 120 countries are expected to compete.

"After the success of the games last year and positive feedback and experience, we are thrilled to announce that the same six tremendously popular game titles will be featured in the upcoming 2023 World Esports Championship," said IESF President Vlad Marinescu.

"IESF is extremely grateful for the continued cooperation from these prominent game publishers, and we are looking forward to uniting the world esports family once again in Iași."

Dates of between August 24 and September 4 have been set for the World Championships.

National qualifiers ended last week and regional qualifiers will begin next month.

"It is vital for the voices of the esports athletes to be heard and represented, and the IESF Athletes' Committee is here to help achieve that and bring about change," said Tiffany Lim, the chair of the IESF's Athletes' Committee.

"We are really excited about the new batch of athletes who are going to be competing at the 2023 World Esports Championships, and confident that we will once again see fierce competition this year."
