Despite ninth-placed Yumin Abbadini being Italy's highest scoring athlete in the all-around with 81.098 points, the country still triumphed in the men's team event at the Antalya Sports Hall.

Abbadini combined with Lorenzo Minh Casali, Matteo Levantesi, Marco Lodadio, and Mario Macchiati to set a leading total of 249.526.

Adem Asil's Turkey then followed behind by a gap of 1.264 while Britain and Jake Jarman made up the top three on 246.961.

Ukrainian Ilia Kovtun topped the scoring of the men's all-around qualification stage.

The World Championships bronze medallist led the 81-strong field with a stunning score of 85.432 across the six apparatus.

Despite being unable to set the best score on any of the individual disciplines, Kovtun's consistency ensured he qualified for the final in front.

The 19-year-old was followed by home favourite Asil on 83.665 points and Jarman with 83.098.

Reigning world champions Rhys McClenaghan of Ireland, Armenia's Artur Davtyan, and Asil all set top scores in their respective signature disciplines of pommel horse, rings, and vault.

Competition is set to continue tomorrow with day two which will see the women's qualification rounds take place in the all-around, team, and individual disciplines.
