Maximiliano Nóbili has plans to continue his children's book series on Paralympic athletes which aim to further knowledge about Para sports in Argentina.

In the seven-book series called Somos Deportistas, meaning "we are athletes", readers can get to know some of the country's biggest names.

Blind footballer Silvio Velo, Rio 2016 100 metres champion Yanina Martínez, and six-time Parapan American Games medal-winning swimmer Daniela Giménez have all featured in the books.

"I had the idea to do something important and relevant before the Tokyo (2020) Paralympic Games," said Nóbili, who is founder of media platform Paradeportes.

"I said, 'What do we have to do that is different?'

"And the books were a great idea.

"They tell the history of real athletes - not just people with a disability.

"The message to everybody who decides to advance is that it is possible.

"It doesn't matter if you cannot see or if you have one hand or leg.

"Of course, it's not easy but if you have a purpose in life, sport is a very good way to keep in touch with other people, to travel and to see other countries, cities and to advance in life."

All of the books have digital features in order to further the reading experience and make it accessible for everyone.

Readers are able to scan a QR code on the first page where sign language interpretation appears and an audiobook.

"Representation matters," said Giménez.

"I didn't have it when I was a kid.

"I didn't really know any other people with disabilities.

"(I knew) even less about Para athletes and that I could be one.

"It shows that people with disabilities are less marginalised than before.

"It was something very special, because not only children with disabilities came up to me and said, 'This was amazing and I loved it', but also adults with disabilities said that they never knew how to tell their kids, nephews and nieces about their disabilities and that this book had helped a lot."
