COP President Damaris Young, 41 national sports federations and members of the COP Athletes Commission, attended the General Assembly, held at COP's headquarters.

The annual working report contained the operational, sports and financial management of the COP in 2022, along with the audit report of the state of the accounts of the organisation from January 1 to December 31, 2022.

The operating budget for 2023 was set at $3.2 million (£2.6 million/€2.9 million), as the country looks to have a successful year in sports.

In the 2022 Bolivarian Games, the country achieved their cumulative best result since 1995.

Panama walked away with five golds, eight silvers and 20 bronzes, but only managed to finish ninth out of 11 nations.

The COP were also active in offices, implementing the COP sports leadership academy, the COP online management platform and the 2020-2022 graduation ceremony where more than 200 professionals of applied sports sciences graduated.

Reflecting on 2022 Young said: "It was a year of great challenges but with immense sporting satisfactions, thanks to the constructive and joint work between the COP, Pandeportes and the National Federations, and that had at all times as a priority the well-being and best interest of our athletes."

Among the international competitions the COP will be targeting this year are the Pan American Games, due to be held in Santiago, Chile, from October 20 to November 5.
