The Chevron Championship at The Woodlands in Texas is poised for a thrilling final day after American duo Allisen Corpuz and Angel Yin took a share of the overall lead at ten-under-par.

The two home favourites, neither of whom have previously won a major, both carded a superb 67 during the third-round on the par-72 The Club at Carlton Woods course to move into joint-first place.

However, three players - the United States' Megan Khang, Switzerland's Albane Valenzuela and South Korea's Amy Yang - are within a shot of the lead.

Yang was the day's top performer with a round of 65 to move into contention, while Khang had a mixed day with three bogeys on the back nine on her way to carding 70.

The same can be said for overnight leader Kim A-lim of South Korea, who recovered from a double bogey on the third to remain at eight-under-par overall.

She is one of three South Korean players within two strokes of the leaders, along with Choi Hye-jin and Kim Hyo-joo who notched 67 and 68 respectively.

Olympic champion Nelly Korda of the US is also at eight-under after a birdie on the 18th helped her to finish with a round of 70.

Several stars missed the cut when the second-round was completed earlier in the day, following the impact of yesterday's rain.

They included New Zealand's world number one Lydia Ko who finished at three-over-par and the defending champion Jennifer Kupcho of the US who was six-over-par.

The Chevron Championship is women's golf's first major of the year, and is set to conclude tomorrow.
