The United States' Olympic all-around artistic gymnastics champion Sunisa Lee has resumed training in pursuit a place at the Paris 2024 Olympics after a break because of a kidney issue.

Last month, Lee revealed she had missed the final three collegiate gymnastics events of the season at Auburn University in Alabama because of a "non-gymnastics health related issue involving my kidneys".

However, she has shared a video on TikTok, on which she has 1.6 million followers, of her returning to training.

Lee attempted routines on the uneven bars and the balance beam in the video.

The 20-year-old was advised to take a break from training by her medical team because of the kidney-related issue, but insisted she would "not stop pursuing my dreams for a bid to Paris in 2024".

Last November, she revealed she would end her collegiate career in order to focus on Paris 2024.

At the age of 16, Lee was a gold medallist in the team event at the 2019 International Gymnastics Federation Artistic World Championships in Stuttgart.

In the individual events, she won silver on the floor behind her legendary compatriot Simone Biles and also took bronze in the uneven bars.

At the delayed Tokyo 2020 Olympics, Lee succeeded Biles as Olympic all-around champion following her compatriot's withdrawal to focus on her mental health, helped by a nerveless floor routine on the last rotation to snatch the title from Brazil's Rebeca Andrade.

Lee also earned women's team silver and uneven bars bronze at Tokyo 2020.
