Athletics tickets for the Kraków-Małopolska 2023 European Games have gone on sale before those for the Opening and Closing Ceremony become available to buy by the end of the month.

There are just 42 days to go until the Games which are set to run from June 21 to July 2.

Athletics is scheduled from June 20 to 25 at the Stadion Śląski in Chorzów and will also serve as the European Athletics Team Championships.

Individual ticket prices range from PLN20 (£3.80/$4.85/€4.40) to PLN100 (£19/$24/€22) while multi-day passes are available from PLN80 (£15/$19/€17) to PLN200 (£38/$48/€44).

The first round of ticket sales for the Games began on April 12 before the next set were made available from April 26.

The opening month saw more than 8,000 tickets sold.

Artistic swimming, set to be held in Oświęcim from June 21 to 25, has proved to be the most popular event so far.

A quarter of tickets have also been sold for 3x3 basketball while table tennis and karate have seen 20 and 15 per cent of tickets purchased so far respectively.

An average of 700 tickets each have also been sold for rugby sevens, badminton, and ski jumping. 

Outside of host country Poland, fans in Britain, the United States, Germany, Ireland, and France have shown the most interest in buying tickets.

A total of 29 disciplines are on the programme for Kraków-Małopolska 2023, with 19 offering qualification opportunities for the Paris 2024 Olympics.

More than 7,000 athletes are expected to take part from 48 countries, with Russian and Belarusian athletes set to be absent because of the war in Ukraine.
