Germany has more women representation as a squad of 287 athletes was confirmed for the Kraków-Małopolska 2023 European Games.

Scheduled to be held from June 21 to July 2, the Germany team features 152 women, 135 men and 140 supervisors for the European Games in Poland.

Germany will compete in 3x3 basketball, rugby sevens, badminton, beach handball, BMX freestyle, archery, boxing, breaking, fencing, judo, canoe racing, canoe slalom, karate, kickboxing, modern pentathlon, mountain biking, muaythai, padel, shooting, ski jumping, sport climbing, synchronised swimming, table tennis, taekwondo, teqball, triathlon and diving.

"The European Games in Poland will be an absolute sporting highlight for Team D this year," Thomas Weikert, DOSB President, said.

"I'm very happy that we're travelling with a strong team.

"We will present ourselves on site as a cohesive team and represent Germany together.

Around 7,000 athletes from across Europe is set to take part in the third edition of European Games, that will feature 29 sports.

The continental event will act as a Paris 2024 qualifier for 18 of the 22 Olympic sports.

Germany finished fourth on the medals table 16 gold, 17 silver and 33 bronze medals at the inaugural European Games in Baku.

The second edition in Minsk saw them finish seventh with seven gold, six silver and 13 bronze medals.

The Germans are also seventh on the overall medals table so far with 23 gold, 23 silver and 46 bronze medals.
