riflingMarch 21 - The International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) World Cup, which begins today, has attracted a record 750 participants in Sydney to take part in a range of rifle, pistol and shotgun events.


The shooters come from 68 nations in total, and will see the 34 best performers assigned "entrance tickets" to the 2012 London Olympics.

ISSF President Olegario Vazquez Raña awarded the "President's Button," the highest honour meted out by the ISSF, to Nick Sullivan, Chairman of the Organising Committee for the achievement.

Medal matches begin on Wednesday (March 23), with the 10 metre Air Rifle and Air Pistol events for women taking place.
