The tie-up sees Cisco serve as the exclusive official information and communications technology provider delivering voice, video and data technologies.

The United States-based company – the third major sponsor to sign up after Lead Partner CIBC and fellow Premier Partner Chevrolet – will support the planning, delivery and legacy aspects of the event.

It will build an end-to-end network infrastructure for the Games as well as offer customised Cisco Connected Stadium Wi-Fi and StadiumVision solutions to help fans fully enjoy the Games experience.

Cisco's video and collaboration technologies will also enable Toronto 2015 to engage with sponsors, partners, suppliers and volunteers.

Cisco has experience of backing major multi-sport events as an official sponsor of the London 2012 Olympics and Paralympics.

The Games will draw 10,000 athletes and officials participating in 48 sports in venues across Greater Golden Horseshoe.

The Pan American Games will take place from July 10 to 26 and the Parapan American Games from August 7 to 14.
