alt ELS VAN BREDA VRIESMAN (pictured), who last month lost her position as president of the International Hockey Federation (FIH), has resigned from all her Olympic roles, she announced today.

The 67-year-old Dutchwoman lost her membership of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) after she was defeated in the elections by Spain's Leandro Negre, who is now expected to replace her.

She had been president of the FIH for seven years.

Van Breda Vriesman had been due to be a member of the IOC's Evaluation Commission for 2016 and was on the IOC Congress Committee 2009.

She has also resigned from the Council of the Association of Summer Olympic International Federations (ASOIF) as well as the Board of the International Masters Games Association (IMGA).

Van Breda Vriesman has also quit her role as president of the FIH'S Foundation for the Promotion and Development of Hockey.
