altSEPTEMBER 7 - ENGLAND'S hockey players came from behind to beat India 3-2 in their opening World Cup match in Moechengladbach today.

England face Korea in Pool B tomorrow and then take on hosts Germany on Sunday, Holland on Monday and South Africa next Wednesday.

"It's a great start for us - India are ranked five places above us so we are absolutely delighted with this result," said England manager Peter Nicholson.

England fell behind in the 28th minute before James Tindall equalled following a penalty corner 24 minutes later.

England then went ahead soon after through Simon Mantell. He added a second in the 64th minute before England had to endure a nervous final few minutes after India reduced it to 3-2.
