altApril 14 - Musto, manufacturers of technical sailing clothing, has been appointed official performance clothing partner to the British team for the next four years, it was announced today.

The company was founded by Keith Musto, who won a silver medal in the 1964 Olympics in Tokyo, competing in the Flying Dutchman class.

Musto will be designing and developing technical sailing clothing over the next four years on a patriotic theme to meet the needs of members of the team  in the Olympic and Paralympic Classes, as well as merchandising a range for  supporters.

Musto will be supplying the entire British squad, totalling some 70 sailors, including Penny Clark and Saskia Clark (pictured), with the new Skandia Team GBR kit designed and developed by Musto with a selection of technical and shore-side clothing and equipment, while also kitting out the back-up team.

Nigel Musto, the vice president of Musto, said: “We are very proud to be supporting Skandia Team GBR over the next four years.

"The recent success of British sailors on the international stage, coupled with the fact the Olympic sailing regatta will be held in home waters in 2012, make this a truly golden age for British Olympic and Paralympic Classes sailing and an age in which we are delighted to be involved.”

Stephen Park, the Royal Yachting Association's Olympic manager, said: “We are delighted to have Musto onboard as our official kit suppliers for the next four years.

"To ensure we are as well-equipped as possible to maintain our position as the world’s most successful Olympic Classes sailing nation we need to give our sailors the best kit we can and we are confident that Musto will prove to be a world class partner for Skandia Team GBR.”
