September 18 - British Handball has teamed up with high performance sportswear brand BURRDA, who will be the official kit supplier as they prepare for the London 2012 Olympics.

The new deal will see both the men’s and women’s national teams wearing BURRDA’s clothing for the next three years.

BURRDA are also the official kit supplier to the Egyptian national handball team, as well as the Qatar and Kuwait national football teams and several football teams in the Middle East.

Paul Goodwin, the chief executive of British Handball, said: “The signing of this new three-year deal with BURRDA is a step in the right direction of growth and sustainability for handball.

“We were impressed with BURRDA’s commitment to quality and design, and we believe our players will perform at their highest levels whilst wearing BURRDA.”

BURRDA is a brand owned by Pilatus Sports Management SA, a Swiss company based in Geneva.

Charles Diab, the BURRDA's general manager, said: “We are extremely proud to be the official kit provider to the British handball team.

“For BURRDA to form an alliance with British Handball at such a crucial stage in the sport’s development in the UK is a great opportunity.

“We are excited to see how the British squads develop and perform over the coming years, and we wish them every success.”

Britain will not be able to wear the kit during the London 2012 Olympics as the British Olympic Association already has an exclusive deal with Adidas.
