September 26 - British archer Simon Terry (pictured) today claimed silver in the men's recurve at the FITA World Cup Grand Final in Copenhagen.

Terry, a 35-year-old from Grantham who won two bronze medals at the Barcelona Olympics in 1992, made the gold medal match but went down 108-105 to Italy's Marco Galiazzo, a former Olympic champion.

Archery GB performance director Sara Symington said: "It has been a fantastic achievement by Simon and he can hold his head high.

"In the end he lost a thrilling match to another world-class archer in Marco and it could have gone either way.

"Simon will benefit from this experience and so too will British archery.

"I am very proud of him."

Britain's other finalist, women's compounder Nicky Hunt, left empty-handed after losing out in the bronze medal match against Croatia's Ivana Buden.
