January 15 - Pyeongchang has unveiled its new logo for its bid to host the  2018 Winter Olympics and Paralympics.

Bid leaders Yang-ho Cho, and Jin-sun Kim, officially introduced the new graphic to the public showing a snowflake design to depict snowing on the mountains.

The shape of the curve represents the snowboard dip and the slope for winter sports and has been approved by the International Olympic Committee (IOC), officials said.

The bid has also held a "Dream Team" workshop to finalise an applicant file at Seoul Olympic Parktel.

About 40 members of the bid and relevant specialists were present at the workshop presided over by Cho and Kim.

The workshop was to discuss the final inputs and updates of the applicant file consisting of nine themes and 25 sub-themes that three applicant cities have to submit to IOC.

The applicant file will be presented to the IOC on March 15.

Jai-ryong Jang, the secretary general of the Pyeongchang Bid Committee said: "We have kept our words to IOC as a commitment made by Pyeongchang and developed Dream Programme as well as Olympic standard winter sports infrastructure.
