Olympic champions Seung-hoon Lee, gold medallist in the men’s 10,000 metres; Sang-Hwa Lee, gold medallist in the women’s 500m; and Tae-Bum Mo, gold medallist in the men’s 500m gathered together at a local ice skating venue to demonstrate their support for the bid and celebrate the official submission of the technical file in Lausanne.
The File claims to capture the city’s unique vision for the 2018 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, which the Bid Committee and its numerous athlete ambassadors look forward to sharing and bringing to life for the Olympic Family over the course of the campaign.
Seung-hoon Lee said: "Just a few weeks ago in Vancouver I realised my own sporting dream by becoming an Olympic Champion and experienced the profound joy of winning a gold medal for my country.
"The elation I felt after my Olympic success was then surpassed by the incredible reception I received from Korean people when I returned home and witnessed the inspiring effect of our Team’s success with young people across the country.
"The public's committed and passionate support has inspired me to have a new Olympic dream, to help Pyeongchang win the right to host the Winter Games in 2018 and welcome my fellow athletes from around the world to compete in my home country."
